Troops of 54 Infantry Division bade farewell to Major General R.P.A.R.P. Rajapaksha RSP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 54 Infantry Division at the Division’s Headquarters on 12th January 2025.
Upon his arrival, the outgoing GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by the laying of a floral wreath at the Fallen War Heroes Monument at the Division Headquarters. This was followed by a Guard of Honour presented by the Division’s troops.
He then signed the official documents in his office, marking the conclusion of his tenure. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion.
During his address to the troops, the Senior Officer expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support throughout his command. As a token of appreciation, the troops of the 54 Infantry Division presented a memento in recognition of his exemplary leadership. The event concluded with an All-Ranks tea.
