Newly Appointed Commander, Security Forces (East) Assumes Duties

Major General P.R Pathiravithana USAWC psc of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) assumed duties as the new Commander, Security Forces (East) following military formalities and religious blessings at the Security Forces Headquarters (East) premises on 11th January 2025.

Upon arrival, the new Commander was warmly welcomed in a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour by the troops of the SLAC. Following this, he assumed duties amidst religious blessings by signing the official document. Afterwards, he planted a sapling and posed for a group photograph.

In his address to the troops, the Commander expressed gratitude for the dedication of all ranks and emphasised the importance, creating a comfortable environment for troops by fulfil the basic needs of soldiers, discipline and professional skills in their respective roles.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
