SLLI Felicitates Two Newly Promoted Major Generals

The Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regimental Headquarters hosted a formal felicitation ceremony for the newly promoted Major General K.N.D. Karunapala RSP ndu and Major General K.T.P. de Silva RSP ndu psc on 20 December 2024.

The two newly-promoted Major Generals were warmly welcomed upon their arrival at the premises, and subsequent separate Guard Turnouts at the entrance greeted them in accordance with military traditions.

Subsequently, both Officers were honoured in two separate Guard of Honour parades on the parade ground after they were invited to the special dais. Afterward, the Senior Officers proceeded to the War Heroes’ Monument and laid floral wreaths, saluting the War Heroes who gave their lives for the Nation.

Adding to the memorable occasion, the Major Generals posed for group photographs with the Regimental Staff and SLLI Officers.

Following this, each of them individually addressed the troops, sharing words of wisdom and inspiration that left a lasting impression.

During the refreshments, the newly-promoted Senior Officers took the opportunity to interact with all ranks present at the All-Ranks tea session.
