Sri Lanka Army Boxing Team Won Clifford Cup Challenge Trophy

The Clifford Cup Challenge Trophy, organized by the Sri Lanka Boxing Association, was held from 18 December to 21 December 2024 at the Sahas Uyana premises in Kandy.

The tournament was held with the participation of 22 boxing teams, including 74 male and 35 female boxers. Among the competitors, the Sri Lanka Army Boxing Team delivered an outstanding performance, securing 09 gold medals, 02 silver medals, and 02 bronze medals.

Lance Corporal P.S.P.S. Fernando, representing the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was awarded the title of Most Outstanding Boxer of 2024 for his exceptional performance.

Additionally, the Army Boxing Team clinched the Clifford Cup Challenge Trophy for 2024.

The Army Female Boxing Team also showcased remarkable skill, earning 02 gold medals, 04 silver medals, and 02 bronze medals achieving the runner-up trophy in the tournament.

These exceptional accomplishments were achieved under the guidance of Major General A.K. Rajapaksa, RSP, Chairman of the Army Boxing Team.
