57 Infantry Division Distributes Essential School Supplies

A programme to distribute school supplies worth Rs. 1,80,000.00 was held on 18 December 2024 for 42 students from Karuwalagaswewa Sri Wimaladharma Preschool and 15 students from Thabbowa Sri Vijaya Preschool in Puttalam District.

The initiative was organized under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division and supervision of Brigadier K.A.D.T.P Wimalasena RWP RSP, Commander 143 Infantry Brigade.

Mrs. Asha De Silva coordinated the charity initiative with Major D.M.A.U Dissanayake RSP, Commanding Officer, 16th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, along with its Officers and Other Ranks.

The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship provided by several contributors, including Mr. N.S Victor, Proprietor of Vee Hena Farm, member of District 306 B1 Lions Club of Madampe, the Mahawa Lions Society and Mr. Kasun Prasanga Jayasekara, Director of Pura Recycle Company in Japan.

Further, the programme aimed to provide essential school supplies for students, ensuring their quality education.
