The troops of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) lent their assistance on 14 December 2024 for the carriage of the God Sumana Saman statue, the sacred casket, and its other venerated paraphernalia in the procession to be placed a top of the Sri Pada that would herald the commencement of the Sri Pada season for veneration.
Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, of the Security Forces (Central), General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, Commander of the 642 Infantry Brigade, and the Commanding Officer of the 19 SLNG, along with Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion.
