GOC of 55 Infantry Division Commends Soldier’s Bravery

Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 55 Infantry Division, commended the remarkable bravery displayed by Sergeant W.D.I. Dinesh Kumara of the 7th Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 06 December 2024.

The soldier's courageous actions prevented a robbery near Malayalapuram Camp, Kilinochchi, on 28 November 2024 at 1910 hours. The recognition highlights the commitment of Sri Lanka Army personnel in safeguarding not only national security but also the wellbeing of the communities they serve, exemplifying exceptional military professionalism.
