Under the guidance of Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, the division successfully conducted the Kopay Cup Football Tournament – 2024 at CIMIC Park, Kopay, on 30 November 2024.
Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Twelve football clubs and ten Army teams participated in the six-day tournament. Urumpirai Football Club emerged as champions, while Palaly Winmeen Football Club claimed the runners-up position in the civil category. The 51 Infantry Division football team was crowned champions, while the 513 Infantry Brigade secured the runners-up spot in the military category.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, competitors and over 500 civilians attended the event.
