Following the conceptual notion of Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Forces (W) and the guidance of General Officer Commanding, 59 Infantry Division under the supervision of Commander, 592 Infantry Brigade, troops with their Commanding Officer, 5(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), distributed Solar Panels with battery and bulbs among the civilians in Muthiyankaddu and Mankulam areas on 29 November 2024 at 5 (V) SLSR.
The initiative benefitted 40 low-income families. Also, a pair of athletic shoes was also donated to a student of Muthiyankaddu Tamil Mixed School.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, beneficiaries, and their families attended the event.
