Officiating Director General Training Visits IPSOTSL

Brigadier K.D.M.L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, the Officiating Director General Training of the Sri Lanka Army, made his maiden visit to the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on 21 November 2024.

Upon his arrival at IPSOTSL, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier S.A Hettige RSP psc, the Commandant of IPSOTSL. To commemorate his visit, he planted a sapling at the training institute.

Thereafter, the Senior Officer interacted with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of the ongoing United Nations Military Observers’ Course No. 3, sponsored by the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI). Lieutenant Colonel G.H Amitha RWP RSP psc, the Exercise Director, briefed him on the Field Training Exercise (FTX) situation, which was subsequently observed by the Director General Training.

Later, he attended an introductory presentation on IPSOTSL delivered by Lieutenant Colonel S.S.A Wijerathna RSP USP psc, the Chief Instructor of IPSOTSL. During the presentation, the importance of enhancing the standards of training facilities at the institute was emphasised.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the visit.
