Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) visited the 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) and the 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), on 19 November 2024.
Upon his arrival at each location, he was accorded a Drive Pass and was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers, and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers.
The Commanding Officers subsequently briefed him on the responsibilities, roles, tasks, and current commitments of their respective Infantry Battalions. At the conclusion of the visit, the Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni) addressed the troops and made complimentary remarks in the visitors' book.
General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
