Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna), was honoured at a ceremony held on 19 November 2024 at the Valampuri Hotel, Jaffna, in recognition of his valuable social commitment and distinguished service to the people of Jaffna and Kilinochchi.
The event commenced with religious observances led by Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Catholic priests, followed by reciting National Anthem, the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, a welcome speech, and a dance performance.
A specially composed song was released to celebrate his contributions. The occasion featured cultural and traditional dances, songs, and speeches by dignitaries, highlighting his service to the area. By concluding the event, mementoes were presented by the civil, business, and government communities.
Honourable Governor of the Northern Province, Mr. Nagalingam Vethanayahan, religious leaders, government officials, senior military and police officers, and representatives from Jaffna and Kilinochchi participated in the event.
