Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Visits 5 Reconnaissance Regiment

Major General M.S. Devapriya USP ndc, Quarter Master General of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, visited the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment on 2 November 2024.

The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer upon arrival at the unit premises and then he was accorded a Guard Turnout.

Following this, the Commanding Officer briefed Colonel Commandant on the regiment’s role, responsibilities, and recent achievements. The visit was further marked by group photographs with the unit staff and a ceremonial tree planting, symbolizing growth and continuity.

Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops, offering valuable insights from his extensive experience, followed by an All-Ranks tea session.

The visiting Senior Officer then toured the camp premises. During his visit, he addressed the Officers, providing guidance on improving the unit's efficiency and professionalism.

Before his departure, the Colonel Commandant penned complimentary remarks in the visitors' book, expressing his appreciation for the regiment's dedication and hard work.
