In line with its commitment to maintaining financial discipline and transparency, the Sri Lanka Army organised an Audit Awareness Programme at the Army Headquarters today (06 November), under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. The workshop, conducted by key resource personnel from the Department of Management Audit, was attended by Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Principal Staff Officers and Directors who are directly involved in budget planning, procurement, and financial oversight within the Sri Lanka Army.
Senior officials from the Department of Management Audit were present to lend their expertise. The attendees included Mr. A. T. Kurumbalapitiya, Director General (Department of Management Audit), Ms. G. P. Champika, Additional Director General (Department of Management Audit), Mr. J. P. Sunil, Director (Department of Management Audit), Mr. B. G. Thisara, Director (Department of Management Audit) and Ms. U. P. Wijayahewa, Deputy Director (Department of Management Audit).
The programme aimed to gain expert insights on accurate audit procedures related to the financial and administrative activities of the Army. Emphasis was placed on adhering to financial regulations, procurement guidelines, and other governing circulars to optimize financial and procurement management within the Army. Discussions also included preventive measures and recommendations to reinforce transparency and prevent any issues from arising in the future.
In appreciation of the contribution towards the awareness programme, the Commander of the Army presented special mementoes to the resource personnel from the Department of Management Audit.
