Visit of US Delegation to IPSOTSL

A delegation from the United States visited the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) to review progress on USG-sponsored training and grant aid assistance on 01 November 2024.

Brigadier S.A. Hettige RSP psc, Commandant of IPSOTSL, presided the discussion.

The day began with a presentation highlighting the institute's role and Sri Lanka's contributions as a troops contributing country to the United Nations. A productive discussion followed, focusing on the progress of USG sponsored training and opportunities for enhancing UN peacekeeping efforts through the deployment of contingents, military observers, and staff officers from the Sri Lanka Army.

The delegation also observed a Combat Convoy demonstration, toured the existing training facilities, and engaged in discussions about creating more opportunities for peacekeepers.
