Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), officially inaugurated a newly constructed house for a serving non-commissioned officer on 25 October 2024. The housewarming ceremony, held in Pusseldeniya, Atugoda, Damunupola, was graced by Commander Security Forces (West), as the Chief Guest.
This project, conceptualized by the Commander of the Army, reflects the Army’s commitment to supporting its personnel. As part of the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Army, troops from the 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (West) and the leadership of Major S.K.L.P.K Silva RWP RSP USP, the Commanding Officer of 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, completed the construction of the home for Lance Corporal H.P.H. Deshapriya and his family.
During the ceremony, the Chief Guest officially handed over the key to the beneficiary amidst religious observances. This project was made possible through the generous financial contributions of local donors. Commander Security Forces (West) expressed his appreciation to the project team for their strenuous efforts in completing the house within a short period.
Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Forces Headquarters (West), the Commander - 611 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Admin & Quartering of the Security Forces Headquarters (West), the Commanding Officer - 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and troops from the 8th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment participated in this ceremony.
