In conjunction with their 27th anniversary, the 56 Division initiated another welfare project to address the basic requirements of all communities living in their area under the guidance of Major General S.Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division on 12 September 2024.
Accordingly, the troops coordinated the distribution programme of dry ration packs and essential food items for low-income families representing all communities residing in Kokeliya area.
20 deserving families in the area were benefitted upon the timely initiative of 56 Infantry Division under the programme.
The dry ration packs were included with samba rice, onions, dhal, salt, spices, flour, sugar, soya meat, mung beans, tea, sugar, chocolate and papadum.
