In conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the troops of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Regiment (2 MIR) constructed a new home for a deserving family on 27 September 2024 in Niliyamotei, Purawasamkulam, Vavuniya under the supervision of Major General W. M. S.C K Wanasinghe RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division.
The key to the newly built house was officially handed over to Mrs. M. Sadanandan Kumari during a symbolic flag blessing ceremony held at the Sri Maha Bodhiya, Anuradhapura coinciding with the Sri Lanka Army 75th Anniversary.
Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and personally presented the key to the beneficiary.
