Army Chief Pays Courtesy Call on New Secretary of Defence

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, on Wednesday (2) paid a courtesy call on the new Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) WWV, RWP and two Bars, RSP and Bar, USP, MMSc (Strat Stu- China), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), fndu (China), psc at the Ministry of Defence.

During the meeting, the Commander of the Army expressed his commitment to extend the Army's fullest cooperation to the Ministry to ensure the security of the country. During the cordial meeting, they exchanged views on security concerns and other related developments. At the conclusion of the interaction, the Commander of the Army presented a memento to the Secretary, Ministry of Defence and extended his best wishes for the new appointment. The gesture was reciprocated by the Secretary, Ministry of Defence.
