SLMA Marks its 32nd Anniversary

The Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) celebrated its 32nd Anniversary on 20 August 2024.

The commemorations began on 18 August 2024 with an overnight Pirith chanting ceremony followed by an alms-giving for twelve Buddhist monks at the Officer Cadets’ Mess. The day concluded with a commemorative parade at the War Memorial, where wreaths were laid in honour of fallen Heroes.

On 20 August 2024, a ceremonial parade was held in honour of the Commandant, Major General U.L.J.S Perera RSP USP psc. Then, he addressed the attendees, expressing gratitude to past Commandants and staff for their contributions to the Academy's prestige. Following this, the Commandant and Senior Officers participated in a tree-planting ceremony. Additionally, financial assistances were provided to a few Academy personnel who are facing economic difficulties.

The celebrations concluded with a traditional all-ranks lunch at the Corporals’ Club, marking the culmination of the 32nd Academy Day Celebrations.
