A new house was erected by the troops of 5 Gemunu Watch (GW) for a needy family in Wellawaya area with sponsorship provided by Mr. E.M Hemantha Kumara. The new house was vested in the beneficiary on 04 August 2024 during a brief ceremony.
The Commanding Officer of 5 GW took the initiative to complete this house using technical skills and manpower assistance given by troops of 5 GW.
During the warming ceremony, the house keys were symbolically handed over to the beneficiary by Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 53 Infantry Division.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and residents in the area were among participants in the warming ceremony.
