Celebrating Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team's First T20 Asia Cup Victory

Major General W.P.A.D.W. Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, hosted a reception at the Volunteer Force Headquarters to celebrate the Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team's historic victory in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 on 5 August 2024.

Sergeant D.M.S.M.K Dassanayaka, Sergeant W.G.A.K Kulasooriya, Sergeant N.N.D Silva, and Lance Corporal M.A.A Sanjeewani, who represented the team, were honoured for their exceptional talent, dedication, and contribution to the sport. They were presented with mementoes and financial awards during the ceremony.

The Commandant expressed their admiration and best wishes for the players' future achievements, recognising their significant role in elevating women’s cricket globally.
