GOC of the 53 Infantry Division Visits 533 Infantry Brigade

Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 53 Infantry Division, visited the 533 Infantry Brigade on 24 July 2024.

Upon arrival, troops of 6 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) presented a Guard Turnout to the visiting GOC and then welcomed by Senior Officers of the Brigade and respective Battalions.

During his visit, the Senior Officer posed for a group photograph followed by all Ranks tea. Afterwards, Commander of the Brigade briefed on the role and tasks of the Brigade. He directed the Commanding Officers to align training with the Commander's requirements and emphasised the improvement of living areas and welfare facilities.

The visit concluded with a lunch at the Officers’ Mess, where the GOC shared his final remarks in the visitors’ book.
