Major General I.A.N.B Perera RWP USP ndu psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services made an official visit to the 17 Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) on 15 July 2024.
The visiting Senior Officer was welcomed in a formal Guard Turnout at the entrance. He was then warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel E.A.D.P Edirisinghe Lsc CES, the Commanding Officer of the 17 ESR.
During his visit, the Colonel Commandant witnessed the introductory presentation of the unit conducted by the Commanding Officer. Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant planted a sapling in the premises.
Addressing all Ranks of the unit, the visiting Senior Officer shared his insights and guidance for future endeavours. In recognition of his visit, the Commanding Officer presented a memento to the visiting Senior Officer on behalf of the Officers and Other Ranks. Following this, the Colonel Commandant posed for a group photograph and then joined all Ranks tea.
The visit concluded with the Colonel Commandant signing the Visitors’ Book.
