SLSR Holds Inter Battalion Carrom Championship

The Inter Battalion Carrom Championship was held at the Regimental Headquarters of SLSR in Ambepussa on 18 and 19 July 2024, organised by the 21st Battalion of SLSR.

Brigadier C.S. Thibbotuge, the Centre Commandant of SLSR, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Senior Officers and Officers of SLSR witnessed the competition.

The 4 SLSR secured the Championship, while the Runner-up position was claimed by 1 SLSR. Additionally, the Regimental Headquarters Battalion won both the Championship and the Runner-up positions in the Single matches. The outcomes are as follows:

1st Place - Corporal D.J. Rohan – HQ Battalion, SLSR

2nd Place - Corporal P.W. Iresh Sanjaya - HQ Battalion, SLSR

3rd Place - Lance Corporal R.A.A.R.T. Samarasinghe – 3 (V) SLSR

Double Matches

1st Place - Corporal K.S.A.S.S. Thushara / Corporal W.W.D.P.P. Ilangarathne – 4 SLSR

2nd Place - Lance Corporal M.P.K.K. Rajarathne / Rifleman D.M.G.T. Nandasena – 1 SLSR

3rd Place - Staff Sergeant T.M. Kumarasinghe / Corporal K.G.G.S.J. Aththaragama – 3 (Volunteer) SLSR
