Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) bade farewell to the outgoing Colonel Commandant, Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, in a formal ceremony held at the SLAGSC Regimental Centre, Panagoda on 11 July 2024.
The outgoing Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Senior Officers of the Regiment, followed by a Guard Turnout by SLAGSC troops. The outgoing Colonel Commandant then laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument to honour the Fallen Heroes who made supreme sacrifices for the motherland. He was then honoured in a Guard of Honour salute.
Afterwards, the Senior Officer posed for group photographs with the Regimental staff, followed by an All-Ranks tea session.
As dusk fell, a formal farewell dinner was hosted at the Regimental Officers' Mess, adhering to military traditions. Senior Officers, their spouses, and Officers of the SLAGSC participated in the farewell ceremony.
