55 Infantry Division troops willingly donated dry rations for Mrs. K Selvijena family who is living as a single parent in Umayalapuram, Solainagar, Kilinochchi with two children aged 8 years and 17 years. Her husband has separated and 8 years old son is a child who needs special attention.
Due to the extreme poverty, she came to the Headquarters of the 55 Infantry Division to seek assistance and after clarification of the situation and the difficulties, Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardena RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, guided his staff to provide necessary assistance.
Further, they also donated school bags and stationery to support children’s education.
