Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage Assumes Duties as 14th Colonel Commandant of the SLAMC

Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP psc assumed duties as the 14th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) on 10 July 2024 amidst religious rituals and military traditions. Upon his arrival, the incoming Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant of SLAMC, followed by a Guard Turnout.

A brief religious ceremony was conducted to invoke blessings for his new appointment at the Colonel Commandant’s Office. The newly appointed Colonel Commandant signed an official document, symbolising the formal acceptance of office at an auspicious moment amidst pirith chanting. As a mark of his assumption of duties, an Ironwood sapling was planted on the camp premises.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks, emphasising his aims, objectives, and intended plans for enhancing the Regiment’s esprit de corps, quality of medical services, training and administrative functions, and professional career development of Officers and Other Ranks. The day concluded with an all-ranks tea followed by lunch at the Officers’ Mess at Regimental Headquarters.
