Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, the Commander of Security Forces (Wanni), visited the 56 Infantry Division and its under-command Brigades on 08 July 2024.
The General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, and Staff Officers extended a warm welcome to the Commander, Security Force (Wanni) upon his arrival.
Following the welcome speech of the General Officer Commanding, the Commander of the Security Force (Wanni) addressed the troops, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace and security while upholding the Army's standards through training and discipline.
Subsequently, the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division presented a memento to the Commander Security Force (Wanni), commemorating his first official visit to the 56 Infantry Division.
After that, he planted a Mango sapling in front of the office complex and appeared for a group photograph.
The comprehensive briefing was conducted by the General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division. Afterward, the Commander, of Security Force (Wanni) visited the 561, 562, and 563 Infantry Brigades as the last segment of the day's program and the Brigade Commanders briefed their duties in the area of responsible at each brigade headquarters.
