Commander, SF – Wanni Visits 54 Infantry Division

The Commander of the Security Force – Wanni (SF – Wanni), Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, made his first official visit to the 54 Infantry Division and its under command Brigades on 06 July 2024 after assuming office.

The General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, along with the Commanders of respective Brigades extended a warm welcome to the Commander, SF – Wanni upon his arrival at the camp premises.

During his visit, the Commander of the SF – Wanni addressed the troops emphasizing the importance of training, maintaining discipline, and behaving responsibly to uphold the dignity of the Army. He also elaborated on achieving a balance between army life and personal life, emphasizing their responsibility towards the nation. Subsequently, he planted a sapling and participated in a group photograph. Following this, a comprehensive briefing was conducted by the General Officer Commanding, the Colonel General Staff, and the Intelligence Officer of the 54 Infantry Division.

Finally, the Commander, SF - Wanni visited the 542 and 543 Infantry Brigades as the last segment of the day's programme.
