The Commanding Officer of Peace Operations Training Centre – Australia, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Webbe and Australian Defence Advisor to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Colonel Amanda Johnston, CSC and Bar ndc, visited Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on 26 June 2024.
The visiting Senior Officers were warmly welcomed by Brigadier S.A Hettige RSP psc, the Commandant of IPSOTSL. To mark their visit, saplings were planted at the camp premises. The Commandant then conducted a comprehensive briefing, where views were exchanged on areas of mutual interest and opportunities for cooperation between IPSOTSL and the Peace Operations Training Centre – Australia.
Following the briefing, the delegation visited the training site to observe the final exercise of the ongoing Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Unit Contingent Pre-Deployment Training Course No. 10, which is set to be deployed in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
Before their departure, mementos were exchanged between the Commandant and visiting Senior Officers.
