The Security Force Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ -Wanni) formally held the farewell ceremony for the Outgoing Commander SFHQ – Wanni, Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, on 24 June 2024 amidst military formalities. The outgoing Commander has been designated as the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were accorded before he marked the end of his tenure by signing the official handing-over document at the office premises. Thereafter, the Commander, SFHQ–Wanni, paid floral tributes to the brave fallen War Heroes at the SFHQ-Wanni War Heroes’ Monument.
Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Commander, SFHQ – Wanni, was invited to pose for a group photograph. In his address, the Commander expressed appreciation for the commitment and dedication demonstrated by All Ranks during his tenure.
Senior officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civil employees participated in the event.
