The "Prefects' Investiture Ceremony 2024" was held at Harischandra College, Negombo on 19 June 2024 in the school auditorium.
Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Upon arrival at the premises, the chief guest was ushered to the college grounds by the western band, followed by a guard of honour presented by the school cadet platoon. Then he hoisted the national flag.
The prefects' investiture ceremony was adorned with various performances by the talented students of the college.
Adding glamour to the event, the chief guest pinned Prefect badges on the prefects and congratulated them. Addressing the occasion, he emphasized the duties and responsibilities that lay ahead for the newly appointed prefects, highlighting the importance of upholding the traditions and customs of the college while maintaining high standards of discipline.
To conclude the event, the chief guest posed for a group photograph.
