Troops of 19 SLNG Return Deity Sumana Saman Statue Marking End of Pilgrimage Season

Troops of 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), as has been the practice in previous years took back the replica of the deity, Sumana Saman statue along with its other venerated paraphernalia from the Sri Pada summit to Nallathanniya Temple in procession on 24 May 2024 heralding the end of the pilgrimage season.

Under the guidance of Major General S.R.B. Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Central, General Officer Commanding of 11Infantry Division, Commander of 112 Brigade and Commanding Officer of 19 SLNG, the troops executed this revered duty with utmost dedication.
