Troops of the 61 Infantry Division conducted a rescue mission to aid flood victims in the Matara District, specifically in Kadduwa, Wellathota, and Dolegoda Regional Secretariat Divisions on 03 June 2024. Under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, the mission utilised two boats allocated for rescue operations.
The primary aim was to transport flood victims to safe places and provide food assistance. The troops worked tirelessly to ensure the affected residents received the necessary support during these adverse weather conditions.
