According to the concept and financial coordination of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division commenced building a new house for Mr. Ranjith Piyarathna a low-income family in Bakmeegama village at Gomarankadawala Divisional Secretariat.
The construction work will be completed under the supervision of Commander 223 Infantry Brigade. 6 Regiment of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft) provides the much needed manpower.
Accordingly, the foundation stone laying ceremony was held on 22 May 2024 with the participation of Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division as the Chief Guest, at the presence of Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft).
The sponsorship was generously provided by Mr. Druvie Perera. It is anticipated to complete the house within a commendable time frame of three months.
Assistant Divisional Secretary Gomrankadawala, Secretary Urban Council, Gomarankadawala, Grama Niladhari Bakmeegama, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft) also participated in this auspicious event.
