SLA Hosts Vesak Festival with Spiritual and Community Events

The School of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) in Minneriya marked the Vesak Festival with a Bodhi Puja Pinkama on 23 May 2024, followed by a Manioc and Pol Roti Dansala (free giving) on 24 May 2024. The event saw the participation of over 2,000 civilians.

Meanwhile, coinciding with the Vesak festival, the troops of the SLA organized a jackfruit and chickpea dansala near the Habarakada Gate, Panagoda on 23 May 2024.

Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College and Colonel Commandant of the SLA, graced the event as the chief guest. Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, the Chairperson of the SLA Seva Vanitha Branch, Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc, Chief of Staff of the OCDS, Senior Officers, their spouses, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in the celebration.
