In line with the Army Commander’s ‘Thuru Mithuru-Nawa Ratak’, 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment troops distributed 500 coconut saplings among 250 farming families on 13th October in commemoration of the 72nd Army Anniversary day.
The aforesaid event was conducted at Sri Bodhimalu Viharaya, Alapattewa in the general area of Horowpothana.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Ven Alapattewe Vijithanada Thero, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, Major General Upali Gunasekara, Commander, 623 Brigade and with the participation of Major Dammika Herath, Commanding Officer, 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment, Officers and Other Ranks of the 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment.
