‘Story of the World’ on Geopolitical Issues Presented to Army Chief

A copy of the ‘Story of the World: Geopolitical Alliances and Rivalries Set in Stone’, authored by Colonel M.B.B.N Herath RSP, Director Media at the Ministry of Defence was presented to Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army this afternoon (6). The author being a schoolmate of the Army Chief at Vijaya College, Matale added a greater significance to this meeting.

The book that elaborates on current developments in the field of geopolitical alliances and rivalries focuses mainly on most prominent facets of those political and ground realities vis-a-vis emergence of new fronts in the global political arena. The book closely reviews those trends and documents how those new alliances are made.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army extending his best wishes to the author expressed his happiness for his entry into the field of authoring books of timely importance.

The same book was released in early January during a ceremony at Rock House Army camp in the presence of a gathering of tri-service Officers and invitees, including Hon Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, State Minister of Defence and General G.D.H Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.
