A collective gesture of Army personnel in the 613 Infantry Brigade Headquarters and 2 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch under the 61 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - West recently provided a sumptuous lunch treat to 56 children with special needs at ‘Sambodhi’ Home in Galle.
This initiative, supported collectively by all troops as a civil-military co-operation project was aimed at bringing joy and happiness to those children with special needs.
The Commander, 613 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 2 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch closely supervised the programme with the blessings of the GOC, 61 Infantry Division and the Commander, Security Forces-West.
Troops after the treat entertained those children and distributed gift packs among them. Those children enjoyed music and the sing song session while having fun to the melodies, tuned by Army musicians.
The day’s event was attended by the Commander 613 Infantry Brigade, along with several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and staff of the ‘Sambodhi’ Home.
