Global tourist compass, Trip Advisor, the leading Travel Advisory page online has rated ‘Laya Safari’ at Yala as the Travelers’ Choice Winner for the Year - 2020 recognizing it as one among 10 percent of best global hotels.
Throughout the year 2019 & 2020 the Army-civil managed Laya Safari maintains the highest level of customer rating at all times with all the positive comments from our visitors despite the downturn of the Tourism industry in the past 6-7 months due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Travelers’ Choice winners are calculated, based on millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travelers around the world on Trip Advisor. The awards take into account the quality and quantity of traveler reviews, and ratings specific to each award category. The hallmark of winners is and will continue to be remarkable service and quality experiences for travelers.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army on hearing of the award conveyed congratulations to the management and the staff for their tireless efforts which made this achievement a reality. It has not been an easy achievement with the prevailing refurbishment and maintenance issues of the property where we had to compensate in many ways to our clients to keep up our standards but this gesture is an incentive to all of us, says Colonel Lalith Hewage, General Manager at Laya Safari.
