‘Friends of Sri Lanka Group’ in the European Parliament, Hon. Geoffrey Van Orden and Hon. William Earl together with the Protocol Officer Mrs M.L.F Mafusa were in the Wanni recently as part of their itinerary in Sri Lanka.
They made a formal call on Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces – Wanni where they exchanged views on ongoing Army-managed social development programmes and different other reconciliation projects.
The delegation was presented with a comprehensive briefing by the Colonel General Staff of the SFHQ-W, Colonel Anil Peiris on social welfare and reconciliation projects in the Wanni before a lengthy interactive dialogue got underway.
Among other matters discussed were the hardships faced by people due to economic constraints, disaster situations (flood and severe drought), lack of livelihood resources and poverty of people. At the end of the cordial meeting, Major General Kumudu Perera presented mementoes to the delegation and extended warm greetings.
Later on, the delegation visited a few resettled areas and discussed ways of uplifting infrastructure facilities in those villages. Nike footwear | Sneakers Nike
