‘Arrya’ Foundation Members Enlighten Commander of the Army on Their Projects for ‘War Heroes’

A group of office-bearers of the non-profit organization, ‘Arrya’ Foundation, in a move to enlighten the incumbent Commander of the Army about the organization's mandate, past roles, current and future projects this afternoon (02) called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage at the Army Headquarters.

The group included Mr Charith Kiriella, President, Arrya Foundation, Mr Shamendra Wickramarachchi, Secretary, Visharada Jagath Wickramasinghe, Senior Adviser of the Foundation, Dr Samadhi Rajapaksha and Dr. Lalith Bandara, Senior Members of the Foundation.

During the cordial interaction, Mr Charith Kiriella explained what the organization has done so far and what it plans to do in the future for the betterment of War Heroes and family members of fallen ones.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, lending a patient hearing to them commended their roles in the past and urged them to proceed with their noble work for the greater benefit of War Heroes and family members of fallen ones in the future, too. Those War Heroes sacrificed their lives, legs, and limbs in order to bring peace to the motherland and to protect the territorial integrity and the unitary status of the country, a fact that should not be forgotten by all Sri Lankans, the Commander of the Army quipped.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, the Army Chief expressed the gratitude of the Sri Lanka Army to the Foundation by awarding a memento.
