The 14 Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Regiment Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), conducted a proactive workshop and an interaction session through zoom platform, meant for enhancement of CBRN capabilities among Senior Officers of the Corps at the 14 CBRN HQ in Maththegoda. The course, attended by seven officers and 26 other ranks was held from 17 October to 03 November 2023.
Speakers from the National Authority for the Chemical Weapons Convention, Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, Ministry of Health, and other agencies delivered lectures on CBRN response facets. The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu was also present at the inaugural occasion.
The event's closing ceremony on Friday (03 November) was honoured by the presence of Chief Field Engineer, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, who highlighted the importance of CBRN training. He stressed the significance of maximizing existing resources to bolster the CBRNE response team's capabilities.
