The Sinhala Kantha Abhivurdhi and Sanwardana Padanama (Foundation for Betterment and Development of Ladies), extending its helping hand to Vavuniya District, conducted a three-day long workshop for women on ‘Management of Small Industry Products’ at Samanalakulam Maha Vidyalaya during June 24 - 26.
Mrs Indrani Iriyagolla, the famous social worker for promotion of women’s skills headed the workshop, attended by forty women in the area and several senior officers in the Army. Brigadier P.M.S.A Pallemulla, 211 Brigade Commander was among one of the distinguished invitees for the inaugural ceremony.
Those women were enlightened on productivity techniques and cost saving methods during the workshop. Many women thanked the Army for initiating the arrangement.
Civil co-ordination officer of the 211 Brigade Lieutenant Colonel T.M.G.B Tennakoon, Major J.S.U Hathurusinghe and a few more Army personnel attended the sessions.
