Workshop Broadens Horizons of Commanding Officers

A two-day workshop on ’Military Support to Civil Administration’ got underway at the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) during 27 - 28 July, meant for Commanding Officers, Second in Commanders and Staff Officers working under the SFHQ - E.

The project was implemented on the instructions of Major General U.D. Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, Security Forces - East.

The workshop focused on Military Support to Civil Administration (Responsibilities of Commanding Officers), Administration and Logistics in the Army, Commanding Officers’ responsibilities and Man Management, Social disputes/drug abuse and general counselling for soldiers as well as welfare measures available in the Army for the soldiers.

In the evening, a Diners’ Club arrangement got underway with a lecture session, themed on ’Military support to Sri Lanka Police and Law Enforcement’.

The guest lecturer of the Diners' Club was Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Ajith Rohana. Commander, SF-E, GOC of the 24 Infantry Division, Senior Military and Police Officers attended the session.

The Training programme was supervised by Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division. 48 Commanding Officers, Second in Commanders and Staff Officers participated in the two-day workshop.
