A total of 25 West-based troops supported the Blood Donation Campaign, held at Piliyandala Mampe Sri Vijayawardhanarama Purana Maha Viharaya on 11 March 2023 on account of the 6th commemorative ceremony of late Venerable Valmille Sri Somanandabhidhana Thero.
Troops belonging to the 142 Infantry Brigade and 7 Battalion Gemunu Watch voluntarily participated in this project and offered their blood on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division and the Commander, 142 Infantry Brigade, with the blessing of the Commander of the Security Forces-West.
