West Troops Listen to Lectures on 'Military Literature' and 'The Proud Soldier'

Security Force Headquarters - West invited Lieutenant Colonel S.C Edirisinghe, the Chief Editor of 'Ranaviruwa' magazine of the Directorate of Psychological Operations in the Army and Major M.H.M.S Bandara Lsc to deliver lectures on 'Military Literature' and 'The Proud Soldier' on Wednesday (08) at the conference hall of the 4th Artillery Regiment.

The project was lined up under the supervision of the Brigadier General Staff Brigadier K.T.P De Silva RSP psc ndu under the guidelines given by the Commander Security Forces - West Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu with the participation of 18 Officers and 90 other Ranks.

The first phase of the lecture was conducted by Major M.H.M.S Bandara Lsc on the topic of 'the proud soldier' where he discussed some salient points on Army Absentees, Illegal activities such as Money Laundering, Robberies, Drug trafficking and ‘SWOT’ analysis.

The second phase of the lecture was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel S.C Edirisinghe in which he outlined the unmatched and numerous sacrifices of true sons of the motherland during the wars, although battlefield memories are fast fading, forgetful of priceless moments and their invaluable sacrifices.

The lecturer has also compiled impressive pieces of works, based on the Sri Lankan War that added military literature to the Sri Lanka Army.

Brigadier General Staff, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin & Quartering, Assistant Colonel Coord, Senior Officers and a large gathering of Other Ranks attended the lecture.
