Troops of the 10 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 144 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-West in response to a request made by Ven. Kapugama Dammavansha Thero, Incumbent, 'Abinawarama' temple at Akuregoda lent their manpower for renovations and colourwashed monks' residential quarters, cleaned the perimeter walls surrounding the 'Bodhiya' and cleaned the compound on 02 April 2023.
One officer and ten Other Ranks on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces-West under the close supervision of the Brigade Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer 10 Sri Lanka National Guard carried out ther project in consultation with the monk.
Those resident monks and civilians in the temple and a group of students willingly contributed to the success of the project.
