West Commander Representing the Army Chief Unveils Golden Fence around Bodhiya

The unveiling ceremony of the golden fence around the sacred Bodhiya of Sri Wimalakeerthiyaramaya in Gonakumbura, Ratnapura was held on Friday (13).

Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) on behalf of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva ceremonially unveiled the fence at the invitation of Venerable Kelaniya Kassapa Thero, Chief Incumbent, Sri Wimalakeerthiyaramaya.

Buddhist delegations from Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore and a large number of devotees attended the event.
